Does the rental include life jackets?

Yes! All of our vessels include the required number of adult life jackets on board for all persons at all times. We have a small selection of child life jackets available on a first come first serve basis. We recommend bringing the appropriate size life jackets for your child. As a reminder, children 8 and younger are required by law to wear a life jackets at all times

Do I have to have a vessel license to rent ?

No, In the state of Alabama anyone with a valid drivers license is eligible to rent a vessel for short term pleasure use. *This excludes Jet skis. ALL jet ski drivers from instate are required to have a valid vessel license on their person for rental.

Where do I pick up rentals?

All boats and jetskis must be picked up and returned by water at Coosa Island Marina. 1080 Coosa Island Rd Cropwell, AL 35054. We do not allow any vessels to be trailered or used on another lake.

What do I need to Bring?

We suggest to our renters to treat your boat day like a normal day at the beach. Swimwear, towels, coolers, snacks, and drinks are suggested. Don't forget sunscreen, float toys, sunglasses, hats, and any other item needed to make your lake day enjoyable.

If I forgot something is there somewhere I can purchase essentials?

Yes! We have a stocked ships store with the items most needed to enjoy a day at the lake, snacks, drinks, sunglasses, ice, floats, and other items are all available for purchase..

What do I do if there is bad weather?

We at Coosa Island Marina LLC take bad weather events very seriously as our customers safety is our number one concern. In the event of any bad weather at time of rental departure we will evaluate the situation to make a decision if its safe to boat or not. Once the boat leaves the dock there will be absolutely no refunds given if the weather takes a turn for the worst. If customer decides to reschedule on the day of rental booking, prior to leaving, no refunds will be given but the booking will be moved at no additional cost to the next available day.

What if I need to cancel a rental?

In the event you need to cancel a nonholiday weekday or weekend rental we allow a full refund up to 48 hours of rental. After 48 hours but before the rental begins we will refund the deposit if we are able to re-rent the booked vessel. If we are unable to re-rent the vessel then you will forfit all monies paid toward rental. Holiday rentals are completely non-refundable. Rental operator may deem the weather is unsafe to send renters out. In that event the rental may be re-scheduled to the first available day of the customers preference. Only in that circumstance will any holiday rate surcharge be credited toward a future rental or refunded back to the customer.

I want to rent a boat but I do not know how to drive a boat.

If you are the renter but wish to designate someone else to drive the boat for you then they either must be licensed to operate a vessel in Alabama or must be on the rental agreement as well. Keep in mind whomever is on ther rental agreement is ultimatly responsible for the vessel and everyone on it.

What if we damage the boat while enjoying our rental day?

Whomever is on the rental agreement is wholly responsible for the vessel and all passengers. Each rental also includes a damage deposit that may be held to cover any damages as deemed necessary by managment. If you are not a good driver we suggest bringing someone along with experience driving a boat.
